Reed Richards and Victor Von Doom first met while in college, where their mutual genius made them instant rivals. This rivalry turned into intense hatred after Doom's face was horribly scarred in a laboratory accident. Blaming Richards for his misfortune (Reed had attempted to warn Doom of the dangerous nature of his experiments), Doom swore revenge, More recently, as monarch of the nation of Latveria, Doctor Doom's primary goal has been the destruction of Richards, now the leader of the heroic Fantastic Four. Over the years, Doom has sent one super-scientific menace after another against the cosmic-powered quartet, only to meet defeat every time!
