1st Encounter: Fantastic Four #48 March 1966

The relationship between the Fantastic Four and the world-devourer Galactus has been an ever-changing thing. In their earliest encounters, the Fantastic Four were hard-pressed to prevent Galactus from consuming the Earth. But during a later meeting, when Galactus was on the verge of death, Mr.Fantastic, leader of the Four, succeeded in saving his life. Since that time an uneasy truce has existed between Galactus and the cosmic-powered quartet. As a result, ironically, Mr.Fantastic is the closest thing to a friend Galactus has in the universe!
