Tinker Geely

Tinker Geely

Tinker Geely is a dwarven Rebel tinker, one of the best Golemsmiths. He uses a variety of artifacts, gadgets, and doodads to survive Dungeons. Working under Jarl Frostriven. Geely was responsible for creating the Geargoyles and has experimented with versions of an underwater rebreather device.

Geely caught himself in a battle that had been raging for hours. Acting on naught but rumor, the magic-wielding Atlantean Forces ambushed a small contingent of Black Powder Rebels, certain that they were, in fact, playing escort to a cache of Magestone recently stolen from an Atlantean keep. In truth, the Rebels didn't have it, but they fought nonetheless, desperate to protect the secret that they carry with them. It was a battle not measured in feet, but in inches.

At first, it appeared that the sides were even, that the outcome of this battle was left only to chance, then things got dicey. It soon became apparent that the Atlanteans had more power, more warriors, and a dark necromancer able to bring their dead back to life. In the heat of battle, decisions had to be made. Geely was working on repairing a Dwarven Stomper when Zenephret urged him to leave the battle with her on behalf of Jarl Frostriven, asking the dwarf to come back to the Glen, but Geely refused to come. He insisted that if he completed the repairs, then the battle could still be won, while also giving Zenephret a scroll telling of the place where Frostriven's men were supposed to meet Fickett Townley and also the components for creating the Geargoyles. Geely asked for the scroll to be taken to the Jarl, and Zenephret begrudgingly obliged, leaving the Tinker to tend to the Stomper.

Alas, Geely didn't get to finish his work on the Stomper, as it was blown up by Atlantean forces. Geely was then taken as a prisoner by a Guild Magus, who recognized the Tinker as one of the best Golemsmiths in the Rebellion.

While in prison, Geely was one day summoned to the court of Jadron Medaan, the owner of the Atlantean keep in which Geely was held prisoner. Jadron wished to know where the Magestone that the Rebels "stole" was, since he was planning to use it on a very special project and was very mad with the theft. The Magus knew that the Tinker wouldn't give the information willingly, so he enlisted the help of an Oracle of Rokos - Tiasma, who could read minds.

For two hours, Tiasma stabbed Geely with psychic probes, trying desperately to delve into the obstinate dwarf's mind, eager to cull from him the information that Medaan so enthusiastically desired, but to no avail. Medaan then started killing his dwarven brethren in the mines, one by one, until Geely cracked, but the Tinker replied that death would be a better fate than serving in the Magestone mines. The threat found a chink in Geely's mental armor, however, and Tiasma uncovered the Rebels' plan for a raid on the mine camps. With that information in mind, Medaan went to make the necessary preparations to foil the Atlanteans' raid.

Medaan was on a roll after the battle, goading Geely about how his troops decimated the Rebel forces using the information Tiasma scraped from his Dwarven mind. Upon inquiring about anything else the Oracle might have uncovered, Medaan was told that the Rebels have some secret weapon, but nothing of the supposedly stolen Magestone. Jadron ordered Tiasma to continue probing further into Geely's mind, even if it kills him in the process.

His success, however, was short-lived as Kerraii's team took out the signaling outpost on the ground and then the Rebels used Gas Toad bombs to knock out the Atlanteans positioned on the flying fortresses, and after that, they started their full assault, overwhelming Jadron's land. Jadron had an escort in the throne room above that would get him and Tiasma safely out of the keep, but before they escaped, Jadron ordered Tiasma to erase Tinker Geely's mind.

His wish didn't come to life, however, as Zenephret killed Tiasma with a quick knife to the head, but then was caught in Medaan's technomantic electricity. Kerraii then entered the scene, drawing attention to herself with Jadron electrocuting the Sect Elf, too, all the while giving a pompous speech which was, however, interrupted by Jason killing him with a stab of the sword through the heart. With Medaan and Tiasma dead and Geely freed, the Rebels won the campaign and held a celebration party.
