Python Tele-Viper was first released carded as part of the eighth series (1989). He was also sold in 1990 and was discontinued domestically in 1991.

Leftover Hasbro stock of this figure was packaged with new accessories and sold at the 1992 G.I.Joe Convention as "Cobra Tele-Viper."
He's the RTO of Python Patrol's ground forces. The Python Tele-Viper is equipped with a modular radio pack that contains all new, sophisticated radar jamming devices. He carries digital scrambler/decorders and low speed recording decks for ultra-high speed burst transmissions, enabling Python Patrol personnel to communicate rapidlywith other Cobra units and support elements.
