As a member of the X-Men, Darwin played a vital role in various missions and battles against threats to mutantkind. He demonstrated his adaptability time and again, evolving to overcome formidable foes and challenging situations. During a mission against Vulcan, Darwin aided the X-Men. Despite being captured, he played a key role in rescuing Professor X from the M'kraan Crystal. During a confrontation with the Hulk, Darwin evolved the ability to absorb gamma radiation. However, realizing the Hulk's radiation levels were too overwhelming, he spontaneously gained teleportation powers and escaped the confrontation unharmed.
