Wood Golem

An Elemental War Golem made from a living tree and animated by vengeful nature spirits. Elementalists create Wood Golems by bonding willing nature spirits into living trees. Whole groves of Wood Golems were being grown at Roanne Valle in preparation for a possible war with the Necropolis Sect before the Dark Crusade began.

Wood golems are animated without the benefit of Magestone, enslaved spirits, or mechanical contrivances. To create one, an Elementalist priest fashions a skeleton from thick boles, weaving sapling branches into muscles and covering the body with a skin of bark, moss, and leaves. The golem must remain rooted in The Land for at least a week, while its creator infuses it with the essence of life. The longer it is left in the ground, the stronger it will be when summoned. Most of the Golems the Elemental League uses are grown from quick­-growing trees.
